Gentle Laser Hair Removal

The gold standard in laser hair removal and more.

Say goodbye to unwanted hair.

The revolutionary Candela GentleMAX Pro

Gentle Hair Removal is a laser treatment targeting the hair follicles with intense laser light energy for thermal destruction, but without damaging the surrounding tissue.1,2,3 We’re the first in Galway to use GentleMax Pro technology.

What is Gentle Laser Hair Removal?

Gentle Hair Removal is a laser treatment targeting the hair follicles with intense laser light energy for thermal destruction, but without damaging the surrounding tissue.

The Gentle Hair Removal laser targets the hair follicle with intense laser light energy for thermal destruction to provide permanent hair reduction over the course of a few treatments. With fast treatment times, Gentle Hair Removal delivers a more comfortable patient experience through its distinctive Dynamic Cooling Device™. This cooling system sprays the skin before each laser pulse with a cooling burst of cryogen over the treatment area, providing a Cooling Protection Factor over 50% greater than contact or air cooling4,5 for optimal comfort!

GentleMax Pro Technology

The GentleMAX Pro combines 755nm Alexandrite laser with an equally powerful 1064nm Nd:YAG laser that also successfully treats:

How GentleMax Pro Technology Works

The Gentle Pro family includes two lasers to treat all skin types with extremely high efficiency and safety:
  • The 755nm long pulsed Alexandrite is highly absorbed by melanin. This makes the Alexandrite laser ideal for treating unwanted hair on Fitzpatrick Skin types I-IV, and other conditions such as, superficial vascular anomalies, pigmented lesions from sun-damaged skin, age spots and freckles. With the appropriate energy settings all skin types can be treated.
  • The 1064nm long pulsed Nd:YAG laser is safe for hair removal in darker skin types. The Nd:YAG is also absorbed by hemoglobin making it possible to treat spider veins, telangiectasia, telangiectatic matting, facial veins and leg veins with less risk of PIH by using longer pulses7 .
• The 1064nm wavelength is at the low end of the melanin absorption spectrum, making it possible to achieve significant thermal injury in dark coarse hairs while sparing epidermal pigment. • The long pulsed Nd:YAG laser is the treatment of choice for hirsutism and psuedofollicultis barbae in African Americans with Fitzpatrick skin types V and VI, due to the typically coarse dark hair in this patient population.

The gentle way to remove unwanted hair

Why choose Uptown Girl?

Comfort.

Many patients are interested in the idea of laser hair removal but are afraid of the pain and discomfort. However, the relatively short treatment sessions combined with the dynamic cooling for added speed and protection decrease discomfort.

Few sessions.

The Gentle Pro Series customisable, state-of-the-art laser procedures take a shorter time than traditional laser hair removal procedures. Combined with the large spot size, only a few sessions are needed to maximise results.

Convenience.

Maximum treatment convenience with dual wavelengths.
